Also, their ‘mango-coconut Liucados’ are to-die-for and aren’t offered at any of their other locations.

Tip: Tacofino has become an iconic stop in Tofino, so expect a long line. I recommend arriving when they first open to avoid a long wait.

Shed Tofino

If you’re looking for a casual spot to grab lunch in downtown Tofino, you have to check out The Shed. They’ve also got a killer patio—perfect for soaking up the Tofino vibe while you eat. Trust me, it’s one of those spots where you’ll feel right at home, and the food won’t disappoint!

Tofino Brewing Company

If you’re a beer lover, Tofino Brewing Company is a must-visit while you’re in town. They’ve got an awesome selection of craft beers, including local favourites like the Tuff Session Ale, Kelp Stout, and Tofino Lager. The vibe is super chill, with a cozy tasting room where you can sip on a flight or grab a pint. While they only offer bar snacks and sandwiches inside, you’re in luck because Toki Doki, a Japanese street food truck, is parked right outside! Their menu pairs perfectly with the brews—think delicious fried chicken, rice bowls, and other savoury bites. It’s the perfect spot to kick back, enjoy some great beer, and grab a tasty meal in a relaxed setting.

The Great Room at Long Beach Lodge

Even if you’re not staying at Long Beach Lodge, you’ve got to check out The Great Room—it’s one of my favourite spots to eat in Tofino. The panoramic views of Cox Bay are amazing, especially in the morning when you can watch the surfers catching waves while you enjoy brunch (8:00 am- 1:00 pm). The food is so good—think fresh seafood, hearty comfort dishes, and locally inspired flavours. Plus, the vibe is super cozy and relaxed, with a fireplace and big couches to lounge. So it’s perfect whether you’re with friends or having a quiet morning to yourself. Trust me, grab a craft coffee, soak in the views, and you’ll see why this spot is so special! And if brunch isn’t your thing, come for happy hour (3:00 pm-5:00 pm) to sip a cocktail and watch the sunset—it’s magical.

The SandBar Bistro

Long Beach Lodge also has a hidden gem for casual beachside dining: The SandBar Bistro. It’s one of the best spots in Tofino to enjoy a meal right by the beach, and surprisingly, not many people know about it! The vibe is relaxed, the views of Cox Bay are unbeatable, and it’s perfect for grabbing a bite after a day of surfing or exploring. Just keep in mind that it’s only open during the summer months, usually starting in mid-May—so plan your visit accordingly!

Shelter

A visit to Tofino isn’t complete without a meal at Shelter Restaurant. This local favourite perfectly captures the laid-back, West Coast vibe. Known for its fresh, locally sourced ingredients and welcoming atmosphere, Shelter offers a menu that showcases the best of Tofino’s culinary scene. From mouthwatering seafood dishes like fish tacos and halibut to their famous burgers and hearty vegetarian options, there’s something to satisfy every palate. I’ve had the chance to dine here a few times and trust me, it’s all about sharing plates to sample as much as you can. If you’re with a group, their punch bowls are a fun and delicious way to kick things off. Some of my personal favourites include the Potato Crusted Oyster, Pork Belly, and Albacore Tuna Poke. Don’t forget to ask about their seasonal specials—they’re always a highlight!

Roar

Although I haven’t had a chance to eat at Roar, I hear it’s one of the best restaurants in Tofino. Perfect for those who love bold flavours and cool interiors. Located at the Hotel Zed, Roar centers its menu around live-fire cooking. Bringing a smoky, charred perfection to everything from locally sourced seafood to hearty meats and seasonal vegetables. Tofino’s newest restaurant, which opened in 2024. Ombre offers a unique dining experience in Tofino, blending traditional Italian cuisine with a modern twist. From their handmade pasta dishes to their wood-fired pizzas, each bite at Ombre is bursting with flavour and expertly crafted.
