Hello, my friends!
I can’t believe Ben and I are heading into our 11thmonth, and soon to be the second year of travelling and working abroad together. This has been the most incredible, and yet the most challenging thing I’ve ever done in my entire life (more on that in another blog post soon). Regardless, I am so pumped for our 2019 travel itinerary.
This year we are starting the year with a month in South Africa, to embrace the summer sun! Then we are spending two months back in Europe, before moving to Australia to be closer to Ben’s family. I can’t believe I am saying this, but I am now getting so excited to settle down a bit and have a home base in Byron Bay. Not living out of a suitcase, and having a bit more of a weekly routine, will feel like such a luxury! Funny how something as simple as that, have become things I now crave.
Since some people have asked, I thought I would share a more detailed travel plan for our year ahead. If you happen to be in the same place or live in any of these areas, let me know – I would love to meet up with you! Of course, some of our plans may change, but this is our route up to at this point.
2019 Travel Itinerary
January 5-15
UK: Chesham, London, Suffolk
January 15-February 20
South Africa: Paarl, Cape Town, Stellenbosch, Garden Route Road trip (Southernmost tip of Africa, Knysna, Jeffery’s Bay), Addo National Park & Kenya
February 20-March 4
UK: Chesham, London, Wales, Cotswold
March 4-24
Ireland: We are still planning Ireland, but I know we will for sure be in Dublin for St. Patrick’s Day since it’s been on my bucket list for years! If you have any Ireland recommendations or blog posts, I would love to hear them. Feel free to share them in the comments below.
March 24-31
Krakow, Poland or the South of Spain.
April 1-3
The UK and hopefully the Warner Brothers Harry Potter Studio Tour.
April 3-15
Malaysia
April 15-November 1
Moving to Australia, and travelling to Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Byron Bay.
October 25-November 15
Hawaii: Maui and Kaui with my family!
November 16-December 31
Australia: Byron Bay and Sydney. This will be my first Christmas away from my family, but luckily we get to celebrate with Ben’s family, so I’m really looking forward to that.
Ben and I are super excited for 2019 and feel so grateful to visit all these countries. It still feels like a dream to live this way, as a remote lifestyle has always been something we have talked about. It’s certainly a different way to live, but we love that every day is a constant adventure. Here’s to another great year!
Are any of you thinking about working remotely? Would you be interested to hear more about how we do it and the struggles that come with it? Let me know in the comments.
